PHARMACIST ROLE IN FAMILY PLANNING
Overpopulation is the top priority problem of our country india population which was 279 millions in 1931 become 540 millions in 1971 and 1000 millions in 2001 it is expected to become 1500 millions by 2025 a.d therefore time demands to stitch up this impending collosal disaster of mankind the only solution is implementation of family planning (FP) there will be no space in the land if we do not take to fp today everything is artificial so artificial methods of fp are the only solution to check over population for this one has to have the knowledge of anatomy and physiology of reproduction and the technique of using fp appliances fp in the long run will help the country by checking overpopulation and impart happiness prosperity and progess to the mankind
as mentioned before a pharmacist is a link between the doctors and patient it is really hard for a physician to spare time to explain and educate the public about fp however the pharmacist can motivate and implement fp in public in following ways
1. by practicing fp in one own family
2. by propagating fp in own locality or the village where one is deputed or where he runs his durg store
3.by stressing its importance explaining fp techniques and distributing selling or directing fp appliance purchased from his durgs stores fp health centre dispensaries or hospital to which he attached he can propagate fp as a so called social worker
