HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

 TRIPPE::

When a muscle is stimulated repeatedly at regular intervals the first few contractions of the series increase successively in amplitude this phenomenon is known as trippe or staircase phenomenon this is due to the beneficial effect exerted upon the irritability of muscle it is due to (1) production of certain chemicals e.g hydrogen ions lactic acid and CO2 (2) increase in acidity and (3) rise in temperature

Fatigue::

it is the stage of reduced excitability and contractility of the muscle brought about by rapid and repeated stimulation of the muscle .
The causes of muscle fatigue are::
1. Anoxia or hypoxia
2. Accumulation of metabolities or waste product like lactic acid pyruvic acid
3. synaptic delay
4. more consumption and  hence depletion of energy
(Glycogen __ ATP+glucose __ADP+energy )
5. Failure to re establish normal polarization of surface membrane of the muscle after depolarization.
    the seat of fatigue is not the muscle the nerve is very resistant to fatigue then where is the seat of fatigue it is the myoneuronal junction in physiological exercise e.g playing etc the first seat of fatigue is synapse (cerebrospinal axis) followed by the myoneural junction the muscle and lastly the nerve the major cause of fatigue at myoneuronal junction is depletion of the neurotransmitter acetycholine similarly at synapse also the stores of the transmitters are depleted and that is the main cause of fatigue
