polycythemia:

Abnormal excessive increase in RBC count is known as polycythemia it occurs under following conditions:
1. At high altitudes or at places where oxygen content of air is low 
2. During muscular exercise 
3. Increase in temperature of environment 
4. loss of body water 
5.Injection of adrenaline and excitement 
6. Carbon monoxide poisoning 
7.Bone marrow cancer (polycythemia rubra vera)
