 Chemistry synthesis and fate of histamine::

Chemically histamine is 5-(2- aminoethyl) imidazole or beta - imidazole ethylamine it is synthesized from an aminoacid histidine it undergoes decarboxylation by the enzyme 1-histamine decarboxylase to form histamine 
                The oxidative deamination by diamine oxidase (DAO) or ring methylation by imidazole N-methyltransferase are two major pathways of metabolism of histamine Diamine oxidase forms imidazole 4-acetic acid whereas ring methylation forms 1- methylhistamine histaminase is present in various organs such as kidneys mucosa of small intestine and placenta during pregnancy the resultant products get conjugated with ribose
