PHYSIOLOGY OF URINE FORMATION ::
Physiology of Urine Formations ::
All above mentioned functions are carried out by the kidneys through the formation of urine There are mainly three processes involved in the urine formation : 1. Glomerular filtration 2.Tubular reabsorption and 3.Tubular secretion
Glomerular filtration ::
It is the filtration of body fluids and solutes from the blood out of the glomerular capillaries into the Bowman s capsule All substances from the blood are filtered out except the proteins cells and the colloids Colloids exert an inward pull due to their osmotic pressure (30 mmHg) against the hydrostatic pressure (75 mmHg) This results in 45 mmHg of the net filtering force
Glomerular filtration rate depends on the following factors ::
1.Permeability of the capillaries
2.Area of filtration
3.Intra-capillary pressure
4.Intra-capsular pressure
5.Osmotic pressure of the blood plasma
