BARRIER TO THE ENTRY OF SPERM ::
1.Use of Condom ::
This is the oldest and most widely used method in the world it is simple reliable and cheap it is recommended only if it is acceptable to husband and not objectionable to wife The government has made it very cheap and sometimes even free to popularise and help poor to use it and practice the Birth control and not sex control it cannot be recommended in those cases where it interferes with sexual excitement as it may hinder full erection of the penis in such cases
Condoms are of three types ::
1.Sheet or latex rubber 2.Skin which is made from membrane of animals intestines 3.American tip which are small rubber caps to be worn by men on glans penis after erection The last one is not reliable and hence not much in use
Rubber condoms are of two varieties : 1.Thin rubber which can be used only once 2.Thick rubber which is washable and therefore can be used several times The thick rubber lessens the skin sensitivity and therefore lessens the psychic sexual pleasure during coitus Condoms of types 1 and 2 are both big and test tube shaped and available in a compactly packed form they are either simple and blunt at the end or have a pointed teat to accommodate the semen which is being ejected out at the culmination of the intercourse The blunt end which fits in when the organ is tight becomes embarrassing when the semen is ejaculated one with a teat has again the disadvantage of the teat getting fixed up in woman s cervix of the uterus and often gives way thus discharging the semen directly in the uterus if one uses the blunt rubber condom without the teat and leaves half an inch space at the end for semen accumulation it would do equally good
