 DIAPHRAGM(WITH CREAM JELLY OR FOAM)::

A diaphragm is a shallow cup of thin rubber stretched over as a flexible ring placed by the women inside the vagina to cover the mouth of the neck of the uterus the diaphragm in the beginning requires to be fitted by a doctor and instruction on insertion on both sides of the diaphragm which is to be placed by the woman 

    Effectiveness ::

Effectiveness of diaphragm depends on correctness of use 
Rarely one pregnancy in hundred is reported 

Merits ::

In this method routine schedule is to be kept as with the pill The diaphragm is inserted by the lady herself before intercourse once she learns how to insert one visit to the doctor is enough for fitting later one can use by one s own self 
                                Woman does not experience any discomfort or cramping as with the IUD Diaphragm does not produce any harmful effect on the body as with the pill or the IUD

Demerits ::

Diaphragm is little inconvenient in that it has to be inserted each time before the intercourse and removed afterwards 

Side effects :;

Possibility of local allergic reaction to the rubber or the spermicidal jelly may be there with the use of diaphragm 

Worth Thinking ::

Some women in whom the vagina is greatly relaxed or in whom the uterus has prolapsed (fallen) cannot use diaphragm
