        Rate Space Ratio :: India occupies 2.4 percent of the world s land yet our population is 14 percent of the world s population if we continue procreation at this rate a time will come to our sorrow and dismay that every indian will have only 1 sq. metre of space to exist This means that we will have only standing space in our vast state of india 

Death Rate Decline ::

Mankind is ruined by three major calamities famines Epidemics and Wars These natural calamities check the growing population by mass- scale deaths we are in the new Era of Civilization advancement in medical sciences especially in therapeutics and preventive measures improvement in education on nutrition and health front have resulted in a significant decline in death rate and anevident increase in the life span of an average Indian in 1961 India s birth rate was 41.7 per 1000 whereas death rate was only 22.8 per 1000 in 1981 the birth rate reduced to 37.2 per 1000 and the death rate declined to 15.0per 1000 in 1991 the birth ratio reduced to 26.1 per 1000 and the death rate declined to 8.7 per 1000 average life span was 27 years in 1921-31 it has increased to 50 years by 1961 and 60 years by 1999 All this clearly points out that we have to face a big challenge and one practical way to face it is by practing family planning
