FAMILY PLANNING TRAINING TO PHARMACISTS ::

How to help implementation of family planning programme ::
The pharmacist in his varied roles can compaign for the family planning movement in various ways :
1.By putting posters and contraceptive appliances on window dressing
2.By distributing literature and appliances of family planning at drugs stores with the aid of the government
3.By explaining family planing techniques and solving difficulties of the customers interested in family planning with a personal approach
4.By referring the customers to proper family planing centres for further information
5.Referring selected cases to family planning centres and hospitals for sterilisation operation
6.In city town or villages wherever and in whatever capacity the pharmacist is serving he should keep himself in touch with the social activities in the locus he can thus have his circle of persons through whose agency he can approach the people for family planning understand their difficulties and solve their problems and save them from being misguided he can direct them to proper Health Centre
7.By organising talks seminars and films on family planning alongwith other recreations so as to attract the people to attend pharmacist can boot up the propaganda of family planning
8.By establishing direct personal approach by being helpful and friendly to customers neighbours and building up one s own circle
9.Putting one self in contact with health Centres and hospitals where sterility operations are done and the fp health service Department for information advice FP literature and other financial and for its proper ethical distribution
Personal factors such as age caste creed religion etc affect the behaviour of the pharmacist and the persons for whom he campaigns for family planning He must therefore have a national approach to the problem and put service before self and the country s interest before one s own personal thinking which should also be rationalised The pharmacist thus should try to be friend philosopher and guide in the village to advise on the subject
In short the pharmacist can play a keen role in the spread of family planning to control the population of the overpopulated india which has reached a collosal figure over 850 millions
