 CRESOL ::

Cresol is available as three isomers (para ortho and metascresol It has more germicidal action Its solubility in water is less so it is used after emulsification Cresol activity is inhibited in the presence of organic matter its absorption from the skin in less and thus it is less toxic it is used for disinfection of utensils and washing hands Lysol is the pharmaceutical preparation of cresol 

Potassium Permanganate ::

It is a Purple colour substance It liberates oxygen  presence of organic matter and is reduced to manganate which is used as an antidote in phenol and morphine -poisoning it has deodorizing property and is used for sterilizing small quantity of water it has bactericidal effect which decreases in presence of organic matter it kills Staphylococcus aureus P pyocyaneus and E coli 

Acridine Dyes ::

Acriflavine and proflavine are in use They are red coloured powders Both give rise to yellow coloured solution They have germicidal effect against Gram +ve bacteria They show good effect even in presence of organic matter Proflavine is an ideal disinfectant because it is non irritant 

Florescein Dyes ::

Fluoresceinum sodium is used in combination of phthalic anhydride and resorcinol It is red in colour

क्रिसोल :: क्रिसोल तीन आइसोमरों (पैरा ऑर्थो और मेटास्क्रेसोल) के रूप में उपलब्ध है। इसमें अधिक कीटाणुनाशक क्रिया होती है। पानी में इसकी घुलनशीलता कम होती है, इसलिए इसे पायसीकरण के बाद उपयोग किया जाता है। कार्बनिक पदार्थों की उपस्थिति में क्रिसोल की क्रिया बाधित होती है। त्वचा से इसका अवशोषण कम होता है, इसलिए यह कम विषैला होता है। इसका उपयोग बर्तनों को कीटाणुरहित करने और हाथ धोने के लिए किया जाता है। लाइसोल क्रिसोल की औषधीय तैयारी है। पोटेशियम परमैंगनेट :: यह बैंगनी रंग का पदार्थ है। यह कार्बनिक पदार्थों की उपस्थिति में ऑक्सीजन मुक्त करता है और मैंगनेट में कम हो जाता है, जिसका उपयोग फिनोल और मॉर्फिन-विषाक्तता में मारक के रूप में किया जाता है। इसमें दुर्गन्ध दूर करने का गुण होता है और इसका उपयोग थोड़ी मात्रा में पानी को जीवाणुरहित करने के लिए किया जाता है। इसमें जीवाणुनाशक प्रभाव होता है, जो कार्बनिक पदार्थों की उपस्थिति में कम हो जाता है। यह स्टैफिलोकोकस ऑरियस, पी पियोसाइनियस और ई कोली को मारता है। एक्रिडीन रंजक :: एक्रिफ्लेविन और प्रोफ्लेविन उपयोग में हैं। वे लाल रंग के पाउडर हैं। दोनों पीले रंग के घोल को जन्म देते हैं। उनमें कीटाणुनाशक गुण होते हैं। ग्राम +ve बैक्टीरिया के खिलाफ प्रभाव वे कार्बनिक पदार्थ की उपस्थिति में भी अच्छा प्रभाव दिखाते हैं प्रोफ्लेविन एक आदर्श कीटाणुनाशक है क्योंकि यह गैर-जलनकारी है फ्लोरेसिन डाई :: फ्लोरेसिनम सोडियम का उपयोग फथैलिक एनहाइड्राइड और रेसोर्सिनॉल के संयोजन में किया जाता है यह लाल रंग का होता है
