 DETERGENTS ::

These are chemicals that lower the surface tension of solutions especially the aqueous ones They are also named as surfactants and are used as soap substitutes which are either anionic or cationic in nature Sodium lauryl sulphate sodium cetostearyl sulphate and soft soaps are anionic detergents and benzylkonium chloride and Cetrimide are cationic detergents Ampholytic and polysorbants surfactants are also used They are the best grease removers but as disinfectants they are weak They sometimes give rise to allergic dermatitis 

    Insecticides ::

These drugs are pesticides meant to destroy insects 

1.Chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds ::

Dichlorodiphenyl trichloroehane (DDT=Dicophane) It is a pesticide used in agriculture It paralyses the insects like fly mosquito flea lice etc and kill them it has long lasting effect it is poisonous and therefore avoided in kitchen 

2.Organophosphorous compounds ::

parathion TEPP etc 

3.Pharmacognostic origin ::

Pyrethrum rotenone it is highly toxic to insects and worms and is used in agriculture

डिटर्जेंट ::

ये ऐसे रसायन हैं जो घोल के पृष्ठ तनाव को कम करते हैं, खासकर जलीय घोल के। इन्हें सर्फेक्टेंट भी कहा जाता है और इनका उपयोग साबुन के विकल्प के रूप में किया जाता है, जो या तो एनायनिक या कैटायनिक प्रकृति के होते हैं। सोडियम लॉरिल सल्फेट, सोडियम सेटोस्टेरिल सल्फेट और सॉफ्ट साबुन एनायनिक डिटर्जेंट हैं और बेंज़िलकोनियम क्लोराइड और सेट्रिमाइड कैटायनिक डिटर्जेंट हैं। एम्फोलिटिक और पॉलीसॉर्बेंट सर्फेक्टेंट का भी उपयोग किया जाता है। ये सबसे अच्छे ग्रीस रिमूवर हैं, लेकिन कीटाणुनाशक के रूप में ये कमज़ोर हैं। ये कभी-कभी एलर्जिक डर्मेटाइटिस को जन्म देते हैं। कीटनाशक ::

ये दवाएँ कीटों को नष्ट करने के लिए कीटनाशक हैं। 1. क्लोरीनयुक्त हाइड्रोकार्बन यौगिक ::

डाइक्लोरोडाइफेनिल ट्राइक्लोरोहेन (DDT=डाइकोफेन) यह कृषि में उपयोग किया जाने वाला कीटनाशक है। यह मक्खी, मच्छर, पिस्सू, जूँ आदि जैसे कीटों को पंगु बना देता है और उन्हें मार देता है। इसका प्रभाव लंबे समय तक रहता है। यह जहरीला होता है और इसलिए इसे रसोई में इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जाता है। 2. ऑर्गनोफॉस्फोरस यौगिक ::

3. फार्माकोग्नॉस्टिक उत्पत्ति ::

पाइरेथ्रम रोटेनोन यह कीड़ों और कृमियों के लिए अत्यधिक विषैला होता है और इसका उपयोग कृषि में किया जाता है
