It is an organic mercurial compound it is the most effective agents against Gram +ve cocci and fungi as compared to inorganic mercury it is used for disinfection of the skin it disinfectant action is similar to dettol Phenyl mercuric nitrate in very dilute solution issued for sterilization of parenteral preparations 

MERCUROCHROME ::

It is also known by the name merbromin it is a red coloured dye it is less effective in presence of organic matter it is used as a disinfectant in higher concentration it is non -irritating 

SULPHONAMIDE AND ANTIBIOTICS ::

There are very widely used as antiseptic and disinfectant depending on their specific efficacy on bacteria fungi and viruses Sulphonamide sulphathiazole and antibiotic like penicillin tetracyclins chlormycetin gentamicin neomycin bacitracin etc are widely used for their local action 

Ethylene Oxide ::

It is best for sterilizing intricate equipment It is explosive and so unsuitable for sterilization of room atmosphere
